According to the Department of Home Affairs, from 23 March 2024 the聽聽replaces the Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirement for Student visas.聽
Students applying for a visa application before 23 March 2024 will be assessed under the Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) guidance. Those submitting a visa application on or after 23 March 2024 will be assessed under the new Genuine Student (GS) requirement. We will update our web pages and our Q&A section as details around this new guidance become clear. In the meantime, please refer to the聽聽for the latest information around the Genuine Student requirement.
The Department of Home Affairs (DoHA) has placed additional responsibility onto Australian Universities to ensure their incoming international students are fully aware of and comply with all student visa conditions.
国产精品 has taken additional measures by requiring student interviews, financial documentation, and personal statements (where applicable) to comply with these new responsibilities. The additional steps will be requested by 国产精品 Admissions according to DoHA country guidelines.
How do I submit my GS documentation?
If you have received a full or conditional offer and have been notified that you need to complete a GS check, please take the following steps.
- Download and complete the GS Declaration Form
(If you are residing in India, please download and complete this form instead聽GS Assessment and Financial Declaration Form)
聽 聽 聽 聽聽 - If you have an agent, send your declaration form to them to complete.聽
If you are applying direct, you'll need to send your declaration form to a registered 国产精品 agent or 国产精品 regional manager to complete.

Guidelines for Agents to complete GS checks
Student counsellors should follow the guidelines below:
- Download a copy of the聽.
- Conduct a face to face interview following the steps outlined in the checklist.
- Sight financial documents demonstrating the student鈥檚 financial capacity to study at 国产精品 along with supporting documentation and personal statements.
- If satisfied with the conditions set out in the GS interview & checklist, download a copy of the聽GS Declaration. (If the student is residing in India, download the GS Assessment and Financial Declaration Form), Co-sign with the student, stamp with your agency stamp and upload to the聽听辫辞谤迟补濒.
- 国产精品 will proceed with the application assessment and notify of an outcome accordingly.
If a direct applicant has approached you to complete a GS Checklist, you must also complete an Agent Nomination in the聽听蹿辞谤尘.
