Facilities
The research station聽has a range of facilities to cater for individuals and groups engaged in education or research at the station. A list of accommodation and indicative tariffs is found on accommodation. A quote on tariffs can be obtained from the听顿颈谤别肠迟辞谤. The Station is developing an聽ecotourism聽facility for visitors and a research program for conservation volunteers. Even so, all visits to the Station must be by prior arrangement with the Director or his delegate and must be compatible with the Station's research and teaching mission.
General facilities include a separate office and laboratory block, small library with聽a networked聽PC workstations and whiteboards, conference area (maximum capacity 100) with projection screen, slide, data and overhead projectors, phone in all buildings, fax and email (2-way satellite broadband). There is no coverage for GSM mobile phone networks. CDMA and NextG coverage is only found in the far western part of the Station and not at the homestead complex or in any buildings. The only coverage across the Station and at the Ochre House is for Globalstar or Iridium mobile satellite.The station has UHF radio communications in most buildings and all vehicles.
The Station has聽a number聽interpreted eco-trails that take about 1-2 hours to complete, a bird hide on a large but ephemeral water body is available for those who would like to sit and observe water fowl, this is an esy 30 minutes walk from the homestead complex. These facilities may be accessed for educational purposes by arrangement.
Buildings
翱蹿蹿颈肠别/濒补产辞谤补迟辞谤测:听The office complex has a small library and lecture facility, photocopier, computer workstations and a laboratory. Telstra mobile signal is available over most of the Homestead complex but additional internet聽facilities are available in the Office/laboratory upon request from the Director.
Other: The station has a well-equipped mechanical workshop and some earth-moving plant.聽 All power on the station is 240 VAC grid mains, which is supplemented by a聽PV system. The聽Station has generator back-up in the event聽that the聽main power lines are down.聽
