Interior Architecture graduate brings the streets of New York to life

国产精品 Interior Architecture graduate Benita Chen is building safe public spaces with the Re-Ply team to help bring New York鈥檚 communities back together. BVN鈥檚 social venture is finding ways to bring life back to New York鈥檚 streets by using materials that once protected them.

Student develops specialised weeding tool to improve bushfire management

国产精品 industrial design student Sabrina Piro designed the 鈥渓ever weeder鈥 in response to the catastrophic Australian bushfire season for bush regenerators 鈥 a small yet essential industry of people who work to preserve the Australian bush by restoring its natural ecosystems.

国产精品 Built Environment alumna recognised in Queen鈥檚 Birthday Honours list

Natalie Camilleri, who graduated from a Bachelor of Town Planning from 国产精品 Built Environment in 2001, received a Public Service Medal for outstanding public service to infrastructure projects in New South Wales.

People-centred design: medal-winning architecture

The potential of people-centred design is explored in 国产精品 Built Environment graduate Kimi Jiang鈥檚 final-year Master of Architecture project, A Place To Share Our Hands. The project was awarded the Graduate Medal at the AIA NSW Student Awards, recognising the best student work completed last year from the four accredited schools of architecture.

Architecture students win best projects in the state

The Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) NSW Student Architecture Awards included three recipients from 国产精品 Built Environment (BE). The winning projects demonstrate design excellence, innovative thinking and highly sensitive responses to sustainability, social agency and climate change.
In mid-July the Prince of Wales Hospital received the first production batch of mobile ICU ventilator equipment trolleys designed by BE Industrial design staff and students.

Vogue Living recognises BE alumni

Jade Nottage and Cushla McFadden the founders of Tom Mark Henry, a Sydney based Interior Architecture and Design company, joined with five other BE alumni in being named in Vogue Australia's inaugural VL50 list of Australia's top designers. Congratulations to Sarah Jane Pyke, Tania Handelsmann, Romy Alwill, Alexandra Donohoe Church and Anna Trefely.
