  • 4-year non-accredited (under the Washington Accord) Bachelor of Engineering degree (or equivalent) in a cognate discipline with a minimum 65% average; or

Program structure

The Master of Engineering is a听two-year听degree, which can be studied part time or full time. In this听degree you鈥檒l gain a solid听background in an area of your choice.听

The structure of this degree provides the opportunity for students to听specialise听in an area of interest while gaining a depth of knowledge across a broad range of topics.听This degree听serves as an entry point to move into听the听Engineering Profession.

With a strong component of industrial, on-the-job training, our program structure includes:

  • 60 days of industrial training听

  • Six disciplinary knowledge courses听

  • Five advanced disciplinary knowledge courses

  • Two engineering and technical knowledge courses

  • One design course

  • A research project

Degree structures can vary depending on your specialisation of choice, the number of courses you choose and timetabling, to give you an indication you can consider the below.

In your first year听you'll study听:

  • Disciplinary Knowledge courses,听these are introductory courses where听you鈥檒l learn the fundamentals of your chosen specialisation听

  • You may also start studying some of your Advanced Disciplinary Knowledge courses听where you鈥檒l be able to听tailor your degree to your interest by selecting courses which align with your career goals.听

In the second year, you鈥檒l complete the remaining听Disciplinary and听Advanced Disciplinary Knowledge听courses, and study:听

  • Engineering and Technical Management鈥痗ourses听which听help you鈥痓uild skills in project and or staff management, leadership and strategy.鈥

  • A design course which is specific to your chosen specialisation听鈥 in this course you will be assigned a听design task relevant on an area of your studies.听

At the end of your degree you鈥檒l bring together all the Engineering principles you鈥檝e learnt to solve听complex, open ended problems听such as the development of a specific design, process and/or the investigation of a hypothesis.听

This degree requires you to complete 60 days of Industrial Training, which gives you some on the job experience before graduating,听enabling鈥痽ou鈥痶o develop the essential technical and professional鈥痵kills,鈥痵o鈥痽ou鈥痶hrive in鈥痽our鈥痜uture career.鈥
