Offers to ������Ʒ are based on academic merit and you’ll need to meet academic entry requirements and English language requirements to get an offer from ������Ʒ. You can check entry requirements to your desired ������Ʒ degree via our Degree pages.

To apply, you’ll need to provide relevant documents to prove you have met the requirements, such as copies of your award certificate, academic transcript, proof of citizenship and proof of English language proficiency.��

We accept a number of international qualifications, including some international high school certificates, ������Ʒ recognised foundation programs or prior tertiary studies.��

Undergraduate applicants can check entry requirements for common international high school certificates from our Direct Entry Table.

All students commencing study at ������Ʒ need to have proof of English language proficiency.��

There are different ways to satisfy ������Ʒ’s English language requirements.��

• You can choose to take one of the following English language tests:
  • IELTS
  • TOEFL iBT
  • PTE
  • Cambridge C1 or C2 English
  • ANU Access Program

• You could take a University English Preparation Course through ������Ʒ College��
• In some cases, proof of prior study in English may be considered
• In some cases, students may be able to apply for an English Waiver. Please note that each application is assessed on a case-by-case basis, and the Admissions team may still require you to sit an English Language test.

Applicants who are not able to demonstrate that they meet one or more of the English language proficiency criteria but believe that they satisfy the English language requirements, may apply for an English Waiver.��

To apply you will need to justify that you satisfy two or more of the Conditions for an English Waiver in writing��and provide evidence to the Admissions team.��

You can apply for an English Waiver during your online application – simply submit a personal statement with your supporting documentation under the English Language Requirements section of the online application form.

Applying to ������Ʒ is very simple. You can choose to apply to ������Ʒ by submitting a formal application through our portal, or via a ������Ʒ agent.

If you are to lodge an application online, simply create an account and log in to start a new application. Follow the steps and upload all the required documents to complete the application process. You may need to upload copies of your award certificate, academic transcript, proof of citizenship and proof of English language proficiency.

Once you have paid the application fee of AUD$150, we will assess you for admission to your desired program. There is no limit on the number of applications you may submit. However, each application may attract a non-refundable application fee.

Don’t forget to check for each intake before applying. Subject to available places, we may still accept applications submitted after the closing date. Refer to if you have questions.

You can apply to have previous study from another institution or another ������Ʒ program��recognised, and the credit transferred to your current program at ������Ʒ.��This is known as��recognition for prior learning (RPL).��

To apply for RPL, simply tick ‘Yes’ for RPL when you apply for admission to ������Ʒ through , and our Admissions team will access your RPL application along with your admission to ������Ʒ.

However, there are stringent guidelines for credit transfer so make sure you have read through the information about RPL via the below link.

Once you have submitted your application you will be able to easily track its progress via your account. You’ll also be able to upload any additional documents we need.

Applications submitted by Apply Online are prioritised by term and if additional documentation is required, there will be delays in receiving an outcome.

Once you have provided all the necessary documentation, it might take 8-14 weeks in most cases for our team to assess your application depending on the term you are applying for.

The Australian Government recently proposed changes to the legislation which governs the delivery of education services to international students in Australia. The proposed changes may result in limits on the number of international students that can be enrolled and/or commence in programs provided by higher education institutions.����

Importantly, these proposed changes have not yet been made and, as of 4th September 2024, ������Ʒ Sydney does not know whether the proposed changes will be made. We will continue to advocate with government as we are deeply disappointed by the proposed limits. ��

������Ʒ Sydney continues to welcome international students to our campuses as a valued part of our vibrant student community.��

The proposed enrolment limits will likely apply to all newly commencing international students undertaking qualifying study from 1 January 2025 with some exemptions which include but are not limited to:����

• Higher degree by research students����
• Non-award programs (including Study Abroad and Exchange students)����
• Australian government sponsored scholars��
• Some Australian Government partner foreign government scholarship holders may be exempt from any limit. The University is currently seeking clarifications on this exemption and will work to provide an update when more information is available.��
• Students from the Pacific and Timor Leste are set to be exempt from any limit��
  

Further, if you are progressing from an undergraduate to a postgraduate coursework degree at ������Ʒ Sydney, you may be exempt from any limit.��

������Ʒ Sydney does not know if, or when, this legislation will be approved. The Australian Government have announced that they aim to apply the enrolment limits from 1 January 2025.��

Given the proposed legislation changes, it is likely that demand for our courses will increase. We recommend that you act early by meeting any condition on your offer and accept your place of study with us as soon as you can.��

We will update ������Ʒ Sydney offer holders with further information as this becomes available.

������Ʒ Sydney expects that demand for our programs will increase. While we are unable to guarantee a place to current offer holders for undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programs, we recommend that you act early by meeting any condition on your offer and accept your place of study with us as soon as you can.����

In order to ensure that we can comply with any enrolment limits imposed by the Australian Government in the future, ������Ʒ Sydney reserves the right to:����

• withdraw your offer to study at ������Ʒ Sydney;�� ��
• not enrol you at ������Ʒ Sydney; and/or����
• not allow you to commence your studies at ������Ʒ Sydney:

to ensure that ������Ʒ Sydney does not exceed any enrolment limit imposed by the Australian Government.

Please note that while ������Ʒ Sydney reserves this right, your offer to study at ������Ʒ Sydney is still valid and can be accepted at this time.

At this stage, we are unsure on the impact that any proposed enrolment limits will have on our Term 1 2025 intake.�� If you are affected by the implementation of any Australian Government enrolment limit, then we will communicate options available to you at the time.����

If you have commenced studies at ������Ʒ College in a program packaged with a ������Ʒ Sydney degree, a place will be reserved for you (provided that you meet academic, English language and any other admission requirements) for the degree and intake that was included in your package at the time that you accepted your offer.��

Outside of this, the College will work with ������Ʒ Sydney to assist all our students with their future study options at ������Ʒ Sydney.��

We do not know the impact of any proposed changes on study for 2026. Our guidance remains that students should apply early where possible, meet any conditions and accept their offer as soon as they can.��

Applications for 2026 intakes will open 8 October 2024.��

If you are a current student, you will not be directly affected by the proposed enrolment limits. The proposed enrolment limits are intended to apply to newly commencing international undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students from 1 January 2025.����

Should you wish to progress from your ������Ʒ Sydney undergraduate program to a ������Ʒ Sydney postgraduate program immediately after your undergraduate course, the University’s current understanding of the proposed legislation is that you will be able to do so without any impact from enrolment limits, provided you make an application for study and meet all other requirements.

Create an account first then log in and follow the steps to accept your offer. As part of the Accept Online process, most applicants are required to pay a tuition fee deposit. If you have completed one or more terms, and you need to take a break from your studies, you can apply for . Program leave is available for up to one year, sometimes more in very exceptional circumstances.

If you receive an offer to study at ������Ʒ but cannot start straight away, you may be able to defer or delay starting your degree for up to 2 years. If you choose to do so, your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) will be cancelled, and you’ll need to accept your new offer for the next intake. Once you accept your new offer, a new CoE will be issued.����

It is possible to defer an offer for up to 2 years. You can do so at any time for an unlimited number of times within the time limit. However, we do have some programs where deferral is not allowed or is limited to 1 year only.

You need to defer your offer by the deadline specified in��. Requests submitted after this date will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may result in your offer lapsing.

������Ʒ offers a range of scholarships to international students. We encourage you to explore through the website for scholarships and awards that you might be eligible for as each scholarship has differing eligibility criteria.

You will need to apply for your preferred degree first through the portal. The Admissions team will send you a Student ID number that you may use to apply for scholarships. A Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) is an official document containing specific details about your program and tells the of your current enrolment status.

Any international student holding a Student Visa (subclass 500) studying at ������Ʒ requires a CoE from ������Ʒ and a visa from the DHA for the length of their program.�� �� ����

Once you have accepted your ������Ʒ offer (packaged or full), we will issue an Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE), which you can use to apply for a visa.

Once you receive the eCOE, please check the Course and Duration and make sure they are correct prior to lodging your student visa application. Please also note that the eCOE is specific to your program, so if you receive an offer to study a different degree or if you wish to transfer your program, you will need to get a new eCoE.

The Department of Home Affairs (DHA) has placed additional responsibility onto Australian universities to ensure their incoming international students are fully aware of and comply with all student visa conditions. This is called Genuine Student (GS) Requirement.

������Ʒ has taken additional measures by requiring student interviews, financial documentation, and personal statements (where applicable) to comply with these new responsibilities. The additional steps will be requested by ������Ʒ Admissions according to DHA country guidelines. The steps may only be completed by an authorised ������Ʒ agent or ������Ʒ Regional Manager.

From 23 March 2024,��the��Genuine Student (GS) requirement��replaces the Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirement for Student visas.��

As an international student, you will need a valid visa from the Australian (DHA) for the duration of your program to study at ������Ʒ. In most cases, this will be a student visa (Subclass 500).

It’s a big investment for international students to study in Australia, but with a bit of planning, you can manage the costs and spend wisely.��

Sydney-siders typically spend $160 on groceries every week. An average 10-12-minute journey on public transportation costs around $5. The average renter pays around $550 a week for a one-bedroom apartment around the Kensington campus, plus utility bills. ������Ʒ has On-campus Accommodation available with bill-included and catered options.

As an international student, you can work for up to 48 hours every fortnight. It’s not a bad idea to accumulate some real-world work experience by working part-time - in fact, a lot of domestic students are doing this.
