Mathematician Mareike Dressler receives 2024 J G Russell Award

Congratulations to Mareike Dressler of the School of Mathematics and Statistics, who has been selected for the 2024聽J G Russell Award.
Conferred by the Australian Academy of Science, this prestigious top-up grant provides an additional聽$7,000 to projects funded via the ARC's Discovery Early Career Research Award (DECRA). It recognises the costs involved in experimental scientific research and the funding can be utilised for equipment, maintenance and travel.听
Awardees are selected by the Australian Academy of Science from the highly ranked recipients of ARC DECRAs.听The awards are sponsored by the generosity of the late Miss J Russell, who聽was passionate about supporting talented聽young Australian researchers.听
Dr Dressler was recently announced as the recipient of聽an ARC DECRA, commencing in 2024, for her project聽New Frontiers in Large-Scale Polynomial Optimisation.听
"As Mareike鈥檚 mentor for the DECRA and J G Russell Award applications, I am extremely proud of her success in these national competitions",聽said Professor Jeya Jeyakumar of 国产精品 Mathematics and Statistics.
